Richard M. Buss, 85 of Naples, Florida, died Wednesday, June 15th, 2022. Richard was born on November 3rd, 1936, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, son of the late Murlen and Eloise Buss. He was lovingly married to Marilynn Konowalski for 45 years until her passing in 2002. Richard was the father of Rochelle (Charles) Szews, Oshkosh, Wisconsin/ Naples, Florida, Brian A. (Susan) Buss, and Rick A. (Suze) Buss who passed in 2000, whom he tenderly missed.

Richard’s fortitude and commitment to serving others was etched in every aspect of his 31-year career as a Police Officer, Detective in the Green Bay Police Department where he retired at the rank of Captain in 1993. His devotion to service was only rivaled by his love of family. As a father and husband, Richard worked tirelessly to ensure his family’s welfare. As a grandfather, he served as a pillar of support and unwavering love.

As an accomplished artist, he inspired others through beautiful drawings and paintings. Richard’s tenacity in life also compelled him to seek perfection on the golf course. Where, as an avid and dedicated golfer, he loved chasing the thrill of a hole-in-one.

Richard was especially close to his grandchildren. He loved them deeply and without conditions. He was the grandfather of Ryan, Brittney, and Alexandra (Rick) Dallas, Texas, Sarah, David, and Grant (Brian) Plano, Texas, and Leah, Washington DC, and Luke, New York, New York / Naples, Florida (Rochelle).

Visitation for Richard will be at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Tuesday, June 21, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adam St., from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Cribben O. Praem and Rev. Augustine Serafini concelebrating. Richard will be entombed at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
