Rita Kaster

Rita Kaster, 90, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at a local hospital.  She was born March 30, 1934, at the family home in the Town of Eaton to the late Walter and Anna (Jurczykowski) Ostrenga.  Rita married Calvin Kaster on May 10, 1958, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Eaton.  Calvin preceded her in death on June 10, 1989.

Rita retired from Green Bay Plastics in 1994, but not before making some lifelong friends.  She loved going to rummage sales and thrift store shopping.  Rita was always looking for a bargain.  She enjoyed meeting new people, and no one was a stranger for long.

Rita is survived by her three children, Judith (Daniel) Rentmeester, Donna (Larry) Nooyen, and Michael (Karla) Kaster; grandchildren, Bradley Nooyen, Matthew (Stephanie) Nooyen, Martin (Jeanine Tenor) Nooyen, Jennifer (Eric) Tenor, Elizabeth (Daniel) Kniess, Katie (Darin) Downey, David (Elena) Rentmeester, and Dakota Kaster; great-grandchildren, Dailen, Trinnity and Pypar Nooyen, Callyn and Delaney Kniess, Henry and Amelia Rentmeester, Dax and Greta Tenor, Jasmine and Corbin Allen; a brother, Raymond (Rita) Ostrenga; Godchildren, Francis VanPay, Teresa Coenen, Bryan Kaster, and Julie Wiesman; a special niece, Carol Larsen; numerous other nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Chester, Toefil (Joyce), Mitchell, and Edward Ostrenga; six sisters, Regina (Thomas) Blan, Agnes (Joseph) Rebarchek, Rosie (Clarence) VanPay, Susie (Rueben) Ullman, Edwina (Richard) Lealiou, and Theresa Ostrenga; her parents-in-law, Estelle and Walter Kaster; and a sister-in-law, Viola (Clarence) Bielinski.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Wednesday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street.  A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev.
