Robert “Bob” Kassner

Robert “Bob” C. Kassner, 87, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 3, 2020. He was born September 23, 1932, in Green Bay, to the late Clarence and Rose (DeStaercke) Kassner.

On July 26, 1958 Bob married Carol Panure. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Bob and Carol owned and operated East Town Printers, retiring in 2017 after 37 years in the business. Bob cherished the friends he met along the way through the many clubs and organizations in which he was involved;  Eagles Club, Hermans Club, Moose Lodge, Whirl-a-Way Square Dance Club (where he was best known as “Uncle Bob,” to many of the kids of the club). 

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Debra Whitney, Dale (Susan) Kassner; grandchildren, David Whitney and Andy Jones, Carolyn (Garrick) Loberger, Adam (Tricia) Whitney, Ashlee (Kyle) Resch, and Lyndsee (Jake) Elm; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Mason Whitney, Whitney Loberger, Aubree Elm and Lucas Resch. He is further survived by his faithful, canine companion, Benji. 

He was also survived by a brother-in-law, Darrell Panure, sisters-in-law, Joanne Materniak, Germaine Burkart, Judy (Bob) Ferguson and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents Bob was preceeded in death by his two sisters, Shirley and Janice Kassner; sister-in-law, Mary Panure; two brothers-in-law, Jim Burkart and Dick Materniak.

Friends may call at Proko Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason St., on Thursday, August 6, 2020, from 4:00 pm until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 pm with Sr. Helen Keyzer officiating.  Masks are required for all services. The family extends a special thanks to the wonderful caregivers for Bob over the last few years; Barb Giuliani-Loberger and the wonderful staff at Unity Hospice, especially Lisa and Kim. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
