Robert Estel

Robert Leo Estel, 91, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by his family.  He was born on September 27, 1930, in Green Bay to the late Peter and Caroline (Pauli) Estel.  On November 7, 1951, he married Marcellina Denis at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.  She preceded him in death on January 5, 2013.  Bob worked at Proctor and Gamble for 38 years as a machine tender on the number two paper machine.  During his time at P & G, he worked many part-time jobs including Mitchell’s Landscaping, building homes and his favorite, Frank’s Feed Mill in Bay Settlement.  After his retirement, he helped with the maintenance at St. Kilian Catholic Church in New Franken.  Bob had many hobbies from golf, horseshoes, bowling and polka dancing.  He was a talented wood carver and Arthur Murray dance student with his wife.  Together, they won many dancing awards.  Bob was active at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, including the building committee.  He was a lifelong member of the Parish.

He is survived by his two daughters, June (Keith) Anderson, Amberg, WI; and Christine (Andrew) Lampereur, Grafton, WI; two sons, Michael (Colleen Estel, Grafton, WI; and Richard (Suzanne) Estel, Hiawatha, IA; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Hermans, Luxemburg; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Arendt; siblings, Raymond (Betty) Estel, Eleanora (Jacob) Wachal, Anastasia (Frank) Krines, Peter (Alice) Estel, Mildred (Eben) Vandeveld, Hildegard (Norman) Jonet, Benedict (Elaine) Estel and Elizabeth (Donald) Ledvina; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Agnes Denis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Beatrice (Robert) Van Pay, Florence (George) Balza, Elmer (Dolores), Arleen (Harvey) Miller, Donald Denis, Larry Hermans, Grace Denis and Alvin Denis.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 720 N. Baird St., with Rev. Jose Lopez officiating.  Entombment will take place at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
