Sharon A. (La Tour) Bernard, 78, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022. She was born May 18, 1943, to the late Edward and Elaine (Joachim) La Tour. On August 16, 1960, she married Ronald Bernard in Pontiac, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2011.
In her early years while caring for her family, Sharon loved sewing for family and made the best Halloween costumes. She baked and decorated stunning wedding and birthday cakes, was a bookkeeper for a Green Bay business and at tax time, worked at a local tax firm. Her home was the gathering place where friends and family often dropped by to be greeted with a smile, cup or coffee or glass of iced tea. In her later years she worked at Schreiber Cheese and St. Vincent Hospital until her retirement, meeting many lifelong friends. She was a voracious reader and avid gardener.
She is survived by her son Ken, daughters Teresa and Tracy, granddaughter Alayna, grandson D.J., brothers Jim, Gene, Ed Jr. (Ann), Michael, sister Denise (Steve) Engstrom, sister-in-law, Wanda (Ron) Hansen, many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Per Sharon’s wish, there will be no service.
The family would like to thank the Aurora Hospice Staff for the care and support provided, especially Andrea. Lastly, to Tina La Tour, who selflessly provided round the clock care for her Aunt this past month, your tireless caring, strength, humor and love knew no bounds. We will forever be grateful.
