Sharyn Lee Collins

Sharyn Lee Collins, 75, died Friday, December 2, 2022, from complications following heart surgery. She was born September 8, 1947, in New London, WI to the late Robert and Pearline (Lesperance) Bauers.

Sharyn was a graduate of Algoma High School, Class of 1965. She later graduated from Holy Family (Silver Lake) College. On August 9, 1969, Sharyn married Patrick Collins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Algoma and then settled in Green Bay. For 28 years she worked as a math instructor with the Green Bay Correctional Institute and received the Educator of the Year Award in 1996. She also worked part time for 30 years as night auditor for the Holiday Inn. After retirement, she partnered with her husband Patrick in running his appraisal business.

She enjoyed spending her time swimming, scrapbooking with her sisters, playing games, traveling with family, and dancing–from the jitterbug to traditional Irish reels. Sharyn was a long-time member of the St. Matthew Church choir and the Shamrock Club. She was active in scouting with her children, first as a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and later as a co-leader and camp counselor with the Girl Scouts. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She will be greatly missed by a great many.

Sharyn is survived by her children, Christopher (Beth) Collins, Scott (Jennifer) Collins, and Kathryn (Chris) Pulley; her grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Collins, Soleil and Ty Collins, and Madelyn Pulley; her sisters, Lana (Al) Reinhart, Cindy Weber, Lou Ann (Steven) Salmon, Sue Ann Bauers (special friend Tim), and Julie Bauers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick, and an infant sister, Gail.

Friends may call at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street on Saturday, December 17th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Inurnment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
