Sherry (Tielens) Van Pay

Sherry A. (Tielens) Van Pay, 58, Town of Eaton, died Saturday, December 31, 2022, following a brief illness at a local care facility. She was born September 11, 1964, in Green Bay to Shirley (Deffke) Tielens and the late Wallace Tielens.

Sherry attended school in the Luxemburg-Casco School System for her entire education, graduating from Luxemburg-Casco High School in 1983. She continued her education at UWGB, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

She was employed at FedEx, Julie’s cafe with her sister Julie, WEL with some of her Tielens family, eventually transitioning to Printworks. Sherry then took a position with Xavier High School as a payroll supervisor, retiring in 2020. She started a new venture following retirement and established “Personal Touch Baskets and Décor” a business she was very passionate about.

Sherry enjoyed baking, traveling, and spending time with her friends. She was an active member of Prince of Peace Parish and was involved on numerous committees. Her true pride and joy were in her family, especially her four grandchildren.

Sherry is survived by two sons, Nathan (Megan) Van Pay and Kyle (Megan) Van Pay; four grandchildren: Adi and Parker Van Pay and Natalie and Ella Van Pay; her mother, Shirley Tielens; nine brothers and sisters: Darel (Lynn) Tielens; Nancy Roberts; Bruce (Kathy) Tielens; Dale (Stacey) Tielens; Roxy (Bob) Michiels; Mark (Connie) Tielens; Annette (Tod) Simonar; Missy (Cliff) Shreiner and Jenny (Wade) Sicklinger; three in-laws: Mike Homan; Anne Tielens and Steve Metzler.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Tielens; three sisters: Julie Metzler; Mary Ann Tielens and Bonnie Homan; brother, Randy Tielens.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 3:00-7:00 pm Friday. The evening will conclude with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 7, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., from 9:00-10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to Sherry’s family at www.prokowall.com. Sherry’s family would like to thank Uchee Pines Lifestyle Center and her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Stacey as well as the nurses and staff of Unity Hospice. Their care and consideration will never be forgotten.
