Bernice A. Boncher, 72, De Pere, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. She was born in Green Bay on March 5, 1948, to the late Walter and Betty (Charles) Smith. She was married to James Michael Boncher for 30 years before he preceded her in death on March 5, 1998. Bernice received a Supervisory Management degree from NWTC. She was proud of her work in Human Resources with the Oneida Nation. Bernice enjoyed socializing with friends and family over a meal and playing slots at the Casino.
Bernice will be missed by her daughters, Lisa (Dean) Hock and Jennifer McVey; 7 grandchildren, Tricia, Brittany, Crystal, Damien, Dalton, Ariel and Lawton; 4 siblings, Linda (Dan) Beckers, Gail Smith, Bill (Kathy) Smith and Walter Jr (Tammy) Smith; her special friend, Ken Halase; and many other family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bernice is preceded in death by a son, James H. Boncher and two brothers, Dale Smith and Roy Smith.
Visitation will be at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, with Jeremiah Cottrell-Duebner officiating the Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
