Steven G. Joski, 56, of Green Bay, died in the early hours of Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Bellin Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Steve was born in Green Bay on September 15, 1967, to the late Richard “Dick” and Barbra “Barb” (Berendsen) Joski. He grew up in Green Bay, graduated from Preble High School in 1986, and later got his bachelor’s in psychology from UWGB.

After graduating, Steve lived in Minneapolis, MN, and Fairfax, VA, before returning to Green Bay, where he met his wife, Shauna (Hoffmann) Joski, in 2007. Elvis married the couple in 2008 in Las Vegas. They had one son, August “Gus” Joski, age 11, and one pup, Montgomery (Monty), age 6.

Steve was compassionate, honest, and kind. He was absolutely devoted to his wife and son. He was a proud uncle and a caring brother who valued family above all else. After Steve became a great uncle in 2020, he began spending Saturday mornings playing and chasing the three tykes nonstop until their parents arrived; needless to say, the rest of Steve’s afternoon was filled with much-needed naps.

He loved and adored his extended family, albeit was a bit more reserved than his in-laws. He did learn to pipe up if he had something to say quickly. Steve enjoyed cooking and was always the first to chime in on what everyone would bring for potluck family dinners. His cauliflower mashed potatoes were always a hit.

A loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, Steve held season tickets and eagerly awaited the team’s future successes. He also enjoyed the excitement of March Madness, although his NCAA brackets sometimes reflected his enthusiasm. He enjoyed golfing and cycling when he could.

In his career, Steve worked as an independent insurance agent for the family agency until its sale in December 2023. He then joined ISC in De Pere, where he would have continued to excel in his profession.

Steve is survived by his wife, Shauna, and their son, Gus. He was a loving brother to Mary (Keith) Halford, Dick (Gail) Joski, Ann Joski, Debra (Ray) Schmidt, Pete (Kim Adkins) Joski, and Don Joski. He was the finest brother-in-law to Jenny Joski, Erika Hoffmann, Christopher (Dawn) Rentmeester, and Adam Rentmeester and loved his in-laws, Dennis “Russ” and Arlene Rentmeester. Uncle Steam, as many of the nieces & nephews called him, was a proud uncle to Angel (Craig) Henry, April (David) Gardner, Brandon (Toni) Vincent, Jared (Suzanne) Vincent, Caylin (Daniel) Joski-Jethi, Cassiah Joski-Jethi, Orion Joski-Jethi, Aaron (Kaz) Schmidt, Cara (Andrew) Sedo, Martin (Sam) Schmidt, Morgan Schmidt, Joshua Joski, Caitlyn Rentmeester, and Nora Rentmeester. Steve was also a fantastic great uncle to Parker Schmidt-Utech, Quinn Schmidt-Utech, and Emma Sedo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Barbara (Berendsen) Joski, niece Emma Joski, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation for Steve will be held at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on March 18, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Bernie Terrien officiating. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund for August will be established.
