Verna Legois, 94, of Hobart, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, March 7th, 2022, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.  She was born September 24, 1927, in Kewaunee.  Verna was the daughter of Wencil and Christine (Lichterman) Petrick. On February 26, 1949, she married Harvey Legois and he preceded her in death, April 5, 1992.

Verna was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish in Green Bay and belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters. She worked as a switchboard operator, for many years, at Wisconsin Bell, in Kewaunee, Manitowoc and finally in Appleton.  Her career was where she would get many jokes that she would share with her family and friends.  Verna enjoyed golfing, playing cards with her friends at Emerald Bay Assisted Living and watching the Packers on tv.

Mom had quite the sense of humor that kept us all in tears from laughing.  She was known as “Auntie V” and always asked, ” what joke do you have for us today”?  We have many good memories of Mom that bring smiles to our faces along with lots of stories and laughter.
We will miss her wit and compassion that she showed to all of us.

Verna is survived by her five children and their spouses: John and Carol (Dixon) Legois, Jim and Darlene (Svoboda) Legois, Nina and Gary Buth, Shirley and Ed Cobb, David and Nancy (Mixa) Legois; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Christine Legois.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, Wencil and Christine, brothers and sisters, Clarence Petrick, Donnie (Diane) Petrick, Ethel (Pat) Seidl, Rita (Don) Barbiaux, Gladys Petrick along with other in-laws and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. Monday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.  Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family and online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.  The mass will be livestreamed on the Celebrating Life Unique Funeral Events facebook page.  You do not need to belong to facebook to view the livestream.

Verna’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Bellin Hospital along with a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Emerald Bay Assisted Living in Hobart. The staff took such good care of Mom.  Thank you also to her card playing friends and her good friend Glorian.

Mom, we are going to miss you BIG TIME!   We find peace in knowing you are now with Dad.  Love you always and forever.
