Wayne Verheyden

Wayne W. Verheyden, 59, Green Bay, passed away after a short illness on Monday, February 28, 2022.  He was born on June 22, 1962, in Green Bay to the late Irvin and Amy (Van Roy) Verheyden.  Wayne was a graduate of Green Bay East High School.  He worked as a carpenter his whole life and built cabinets on the side.  Wayne was a workaholic and enjoyed staying busy.  He loved rebuilding cars and cherished his ’62 Chevy Impala and ’68 Chevy pick-up.

He is survived by his siblings, Richard (Kathy) Verheyden, Nancy (Larry) Mours, Mary Jo Molzahn, Gary Verheyden, Karen Bruntjens, Dale (Pam) Verheyden, Jan (Bernie) Bukouricz, Lynn Schwartz, Mark (Dana Bartram) Verheyden and Julie Verheyden; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Danny Verheyden; brothers-in-law, Ron Bruntjens, Tom Schwartz, Dana Molzahn and Denny Firgens.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Memorial service 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Burkel officiating.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established.

Wayne’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Bellin Hospital, Aurora BayCare, Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital and the staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
